read this article on boundless today.
it resonated with me.. having 24/7 broadband access and scheduling the computer to turn off while i'm asleep and wake up when i'm awake has made IT and the whole web thing such a large presence in my life.
there's just so many distractions while the computer is on.. from checking emails a few times a day, IMing friends and family, blog reading, facebooking and so many more... and they make the hours fly past ever so fast.
so i wonder.. if i declared an info-techno sabbath, and spent time with God instead, would i make it? should i take a deep plunge, or try baby steps? perhaps half a day without the computer to start with?
i think this is something God has been challenging me with. from the study of Romans, in evaluating what/who i spend most of my time with determines what/who is the god in my life. and even most recently from the returnees workshop, on developing and keeping spiritual disciplines, and taking time to spend in the stillness of God.
i shall set my schedule to switch off my computer on Sundays. i think its time my computer had a rest too.
p/s: my chatterbox died.. i dont think i'll revive it since no one seems to come round anymore, just leave a comment if you're really bursting and need an outlet! :)

Woosh. Tell me about it. I'm hooked on the web. But really, I can't live without it, maybe can live without the IMing and facebook. But not without my school webmail. However, I think I shall follow your example and take a break on sundays too, it's becoming my god too. :(
